Previously on "Murphy's Law" (was there ever a TV show? If not, why not? Great title.)

Murphy is still hard at it.

Diane and I were to attend the Fargo Fantasy Festival as their author guests; however, the con has run into sponsorship problems and the trip has had to be rescheduled for next year. Too bad; but at least they've been spared the sort of air-ticket rescheduling craziness we went through when we had to cancel WorldCon.

I wonder do Rentokil have a spray for gremlins...?

Murphy fumbled whatever he had planned for Coppercon, however; we had a great time, and it was so nice that the concom turned the local thermostat up just for little me. :-D The weather when we got on the plane in Dublin was about 60F/15C and showery; when we got off in Phoenix, it was 102F/39C with hard, bright sunshine. Eek.

Diane: "It's dry heat, you won't suffer." Me: "Tell that to toast."

And anyway, it wasn't dry heat: the Phoenix/Tempe area was sufficiently humid, with frequent spectacular thunderstorms that people were referring to "monsoon season." Never mind the heat: much fun was had by all, and I found a couple of splendid second-hand bookshops - the sort of place where I can go in as soon as it opens and have to be forcibly removed at closing time with heavy lifting gear...
