CHF can respond to medication; I guess the real worry is that if she's 90, her powers of recuperation are going to be ... well, you know her and I don't, so your guess is better than mine.
Let's just say, I feel your pain. (My parents being 79 and 84 respectively, and both having dodged coffins in the past 3 years ...)
My father was an awkward cuss in later years. With the onset of Alzheimer's he was always unpredictable, right up to the point he went to bed one night, full of vim and vigour, and promptly died in his sleep. I never got the chance to tell him all the little things I wanted to, but, you know, would wait until the right time. I never got the chance to thank him for being my dad, and bringing me up the way he did. I never told him that I understood his very occasional hissy fits were not due to him being an old grouch, but because he cared that I had done something stupid. I never told him I loved him. Peter, if you can, if she is well enough, take the opportunity. God willing she will promptly get well again and rag you remorselessly for being a soft 'nana. But that is so much better than a lifetime of *I wish I'd told her that...* My thoughts are with you, still. Be lucky, be brave, and know there are a lot of people standing behind you at this time
Peter, Lee and I are thinking of you. If there is anything you could wish for statesdie, let us know and we'll be happy to ship. Nadine Armstrong and Lee Whiteside
Sending another batch of good thoughts your way for your Mum. I remember meeting her in Glasgow in '95 and you telling me the Harlan Ellison story. She's something special.
Hi Peter. It was great to meet you and Diane (and Colette introduced the girls to your Mum - they waved and blew her kisses) and chat at the hospital, I'm sorry it couldn't have been under better circumstances.
Best wishes for you and your Mum. I hope she pulls through.
